How to Merchandise Your Jewelry for Maximum Sales

Jewelry isn’t just about beauty—it’s about creating an experience. The way you display your jewelry in a retail space can make a huge difference in how customers engage with your pieces and, ultimately, how well they sell. Whether you’re a boutique owner or a gift store retailer stocking our handmade jewelry, here are the best ways to showcase and merchandise your collection for maximum impact.

1. Create a Focal Point

Your display should have a clear focal point that immediately draws customers in. A neat and organized jewelry display is a great way to get a shoppers attention. Use eye-catching elements like:

A beautifully arranged display stand featuring your bestsellers. We have a variety of displays available to purchase through our Faire website. Jewelry Displays

A statement necklace or bracelet stack that customers can visualize wearing. You can purchase a necklace bust through Etsy and find a style of display that fits the vibe of your store.

A themed setup based on seasonal colors or trends.

2. Use Levels to Add Depth

Sometimes a flat table with jewelry laying down won’t grab attention. Instead you could try to create height variation by combining our tall earrings displays with our wood bracelet T-bars and flay trays to create depth and dimension with your displays. We have displays available to purchase or you can use Etsy to find displays that match your stores aesthetic. Trying combing the following:

Jewelry stands, busts, or risers.

Trays and boxes to showcase earrings and rings.

Hanging displays for necklaces to prevent tangling and improve visibility.

3. Organize by Collection or Theme

Grouping jewelry into cohesive collections makes it easier for customers to shop. I recommend purchasing jewelry intentionally to fill up a display that looks organized and neat. I always recommend purchase 4 similar styles for each row, when using out earrings displays. This will give a clean and organized look to your displays. Try organizing by:

Material: Sterling silver, gold-plated, gemstone pieces.

Style: Boho, minimalist, statement jewelry.

Occasion: Everyday wear, bridal, holiday gifts.

4. Encourage Interaction

Customers are more likely to buy jewelry when they can touch and try it on. I have experimented with all types of packaging for our jewelry over the last 10 years and have found that people are more inclined to purchase jewelry they can try on and see on themselves using a mirror.

Place mirrors near the display to encourage try-ons.

Keep some pieces out of cases for easy access.

Offer a “touch and feel” section with sample pieces.

5. Use Lighting to Make Pieces Shine

Good lighting enhances the sparkle and detail of jewelry. When I use to attend trade shows and art shows, I would use clip on LED lights to illuminate my jewelry. If you own a brick and mortar store, I would highly recommend investing in high quality track lighting that can easily be install and used to illuminate your jewelry and merchandise.

 Use:

Soft, warm lighting to create an inviting atmosphere.

Spotlights or LED strips to highlight featured pieces.

Natural light when possible to bring out the colors of gemstones.

6. Refresh Displays Regularly

Customers will revisit a store that feels fresh and exciting. Update your jewelry displays often by:

Rotating featured products every few weeks.

Adjusting layouts to reflect seasonal trends.

Incorporating props like dried flowers, fabric, or stones to complement the aesthetic.

Make sure to tidy up jewelry displays that have been rearranged by customers to make sure materials, colors and styles are grouped together to create clean displays.

7. Offer Styling Suggestions

Help customers visualize how to wear your pieces. You can use the post card we include in your order to place next to our jewelry to share ideas on how to style our jewelry. You can also print off photos from our website and purchase card holders to hold the images: Cecelia Designs Jewelry | Boho Jewelry

Create styled sets (e.g., necklace + earrings + bracelet).

Use signage or small cards with “How to Wear” tips.

Feature lifestyle images of people wearing the jewelry.

8. Highlight Bestsellers and New Arrivals

Make sure your top-selling and newest pieces get prime placement. Set out new pieces at eye height to grab shoppers' attention and replace the "prime real estate" areas with your newer items. You can also print off signs using Canva or Google Doc at your local print shop to promote new pieces. Use signs that say:

"Best Seller", "New Arrival", "Limited Stock – Get Yours Before It’s Gone!"

9. Make the Checkout Area Work for You

Jewelry is a great impulse buy, so place smaller pieces near the checkout. Stores that set our jewelry near or on the checkout counter have seen a huge increase in sales. This also allows for a good area to merchandise our jewelry in plain sight of employees.

Display rings, dainty bracelets, or stud earrings in easy-to-grab trays.

Offer special promotions for add-ons ("Buy 2, Get 1 Free").

10. Share Our Brand Story

Customers love knowing the story behind handmade jewelry. We include post cards in every order and recommend using this to display next to your new Cecelia Jewelry.

Final Thoughts

The right merchandising can transform your jewelry sales and create an unforgettable shopping experience for customers. By making your displays engaging, interactive, and well-organized, you help customers connect with your brand and feel inspired to buy.
